GUIDES
The
One Fly is a friendly affair and the guides play an important role in that relationship.
Your guide is your newfound friend for that particular day and he will do everything
in his power to help you. Your guide for the first day of fishing will
join you for dinner the first evening which will enable you to discuss plans
for the following day.
For each day of fishing, your guide will collect you and arrange your
lunch, drive you to the river and suggest where you should fish. Once
you have caught a fish, the guide will net it for you only if you ask. The guide
will then measure and record the fish for Fish & Game records and our points
scoring system. At the close of fishing your guide will drive you back to the
events centre where you can relax over a drink, discuss the day and make plans
with your new guide for the following day.
The majority of the guides are local anglers who dedicate their
time and good will to the event and without them this event would not take place.
In the spirit of the One Fly, photographer, guide and innovator Martin de Ruyter decided that the guides should award some of the anglers which they do in great style.
Award some of the guests and anglers which they do in great style.
All recipients received a New Zealand Trout BBQ apron signed by all the guides.
One behalf of all the guides, we thank the anglers for a great few days on and off the river – hope to see you all again in 2010.
Cheers,
Martin.
