FAIRBOURNE
Fairborne Estate are proud sponsors of the 'F’ Fly competition
as a part of the One Fly event.(www.fairbourne.co.nz)

Fairbourne Estate Ltd is a New Zealand registered wine export company owned by Sarah Inkersell and Russell Hooper.
Our focus and speciality is Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

On arrival at the event each angler receives the boxed 'F' tied by master
tier Peter Carty.
Peter attempts and often succeeds in tying an effective ‘convertible’
fly. Convertible means that in many case the fly can be used as a nymph or as
a dry fly by simply removing the wing cover and applying floatant to the body
material. Similarly, the weightless nymph can be fished on the surface, sub-surface
and completely sunk by the use of varying amounts of weight attached to the
leader.
The versatility of the fly can often produce large numbers of fish.
The 'F' Fly can be used as your ‘one
fly’ for that particular days fishing. If the fly is damaged we will replace
it with a new one for the next time you use it, or simply to keep as a memento
of the occasion.
The angler who accrues the most points
over the three days of fishing receives the Fairbourne Winemakers Selection of
premium wine, with the points also going to the overall team performance.

2009 Winner Tony Entwistle receives the Fairborne Winemakers Selection from Russel & Sarah Hooper.

Peter Cullinane was delighted to receive the naming of the fly award from Russell Hooper.
The Carty tied special will now be known as the fairfly.
Let all fish that see it devour it… without fear.
