SILENT AUCTION
The
Silent Auction takes place on the opening afternoon and evening of the One Fly
event, this allows would be bidders and buyers to study the many items on offer.
A ‘Silent Auction’ is when items for
auction are displayed with a bidding sheet nearby the article for sale. Bidders
record their name or initials on the bidding sheet. As and when the auction
is closed, the last person to bid wins the article.
The auction is a ‘fun fundraiser’ where people often use non-de-plumes,
or strange marks to put other bidders off the trail.

Articles
for auction are varied and include fishing gear- old and new, some antiques,
books, prints and paintings, sculptures, pottery and porcelain. Clothing, boxed
and framed flies, unique One Fly memorabilia and much more.
Many of the items on offer are donated by people
attending the event, while others are donated by corporate companies and individuals
who support the sole beneficiary of the auction – The One Fly Challenge Trust (see Trust
page).
If you would like to donate anything for the auction, please email terry@onefly.co.nz
to make the necessary arrangements.
We
would like to thank all the people for their donations.
